The audit pack, and why a sceptic can check it alone
Every action on the yard desk sits in a log that cannot be edited afterwards. Each day's record is chained to the one before it, and the day's chain head is timestamped by an independent time authority, so yesterday cannot be rewritten today.
Every closed lot downloads as a pack with its own verifier. An auditor, a borrower's lawyer or a court can run it offline, without an account here and without our cooperation, and see for themselves that the bids, the reserve and the close match.
That is the design principle behind the whole selling side: a record that is convincing precisely because checking it does not require trusting us.
