Price movement: what the register keeps when a price changes
A price on the register is never overwritten in silence. The first figure we saw is kept with the date we saw it, and every movement after that is added beside it, so a page can show when a vehicle became more expensive and by how much.
This matters most in the quarters when makers revise, which is usually January, April, July and October. A quote that looks high in November is easier to judge against a price that moved in October than against a single undated number.
Where a vehicle has no verified price yet, the chart says so and stays empty rather than drawing a line through guesses. The fuller history, the demand behind it and a vehicle's standing in its class over time belong to Edge, the reference layer built on the same record.
