Your public profile: off until you switch it on

A profile is one person's page, and it is off until you switch it on. A handle makes its address, truckaurbus.com and your handle: three to twenty-four lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. If you change it, the old handle stays yours for a year so an old link does not land on a stranger.

Every block is yours to show or hide one at a time: a line about yourself, the businesses you run, the count of bids you have placed, your part in the Circle, the helpful votes your answers earned, the vehicles you keep.

Some things never appear, whatever you switch on: your phone and email, the bids themselves and what they were worth, the prices anyone paid, documents, positions, drivers and log-ins. A business is not a profile either: it has its own page and its own address, and it is claimed rather than typed here.
