The Sample stamp

A lot or a listing marked Sample shows how things run here. A sample lot's seller, bids, watchers and questions are examples, made by no real person, and so are a sample listing's seller and details. The stamp says so wherever they appear: on cards, in quick view, on the page, in Your auctions and in alerts.

Where a stamp cannot sit, sample activity is simply not shown: a ticker gives only the opening price, My bids lists real rounds only, and a sample listing never appears in a widget.

Sample bids never count in a price figure, a buyer's record or anyone's purchase statement. A lot or a listing without the stamp is a real seller's.
