The daily walkaround, as a tool rather than a form
Six stations around the vehicle before the day starts: a photograph at each and a verdict, then one PDF for the owner or for your own record. It takes the time it takes to walk around the truck, which is the time it should take.
The point is not the paperwork. It is that tyres, lights, leaks, load security and the papers get looked at by somebody, in the same order, every morning, and that the looking leaves a trace. A photograph from Tuesday settles an argument on Friday that memory cannot.
The record is the driver's as much as the owner's. It stays on the phone unless you send it, and what you send is a PDF rather than access to anything.
