Due and at risk
Due and at risk puts a rupee figure on what your papers and the rules can cost you. At the top: what it costs you now, what falls due in 30 and in 90 days, the rules ahead, challans to pay, and the fines at stake now.
Each row says when, what, what it costs and the source. An insurance policy that lapsed carries the Motor Vehicles Act's fine for a first offence, with the section; a fitness certificate due within weeks says so, and that past eight years it is renewed every year. A state may settle some fines on the spot for less.
Rules ahead reads the lanes your trucks ran in the last 90 days, so a rule that bites on your roads shows before it does: the fitness fee that rises at 10, 15 and 20 years, or the Delhi and NCR bar on a diesel truck past ten years.
